Cole Mathis - Back on shelf at High-A High-A Brooklyn placed Mathis on its 7-day injured list Tuesday due to an unspecified injury.

Impact Mathis will head to the IL for the second time this season, though it's unclear if his latest setback on the health front is related to the injury that kept him out for about seven weeks earlier this summer. The 23-year-old corner infielder -- whom the Mets acquired in the June 25 deal that sent left-hander David Peterson to the Cubs -- debuted for his new organization on July 23 before being reinstated from Brooklyn's injured list Aug. 4. He appeared in just three games for Brooklyn -- going 1-for-11 with a double and 3:5 BB:K -- prior to landing back on the IL a week later.

Randy Guzman - Back on injured list at High-A High-A Brooklyn placed Guzman on the 7-day injured list Aug. 6 due to an unspecified injury.

Impact Guzman is on the shelf for the second time this season, after a quadriceps strain previously cost him about six weeks of action while he was with Single-A St. Lucie earlier this summer. After earning a promotion to Brooklyn on July 28, Guzman slashed .393/.438/.536 with a home run over his first seven games at High-A before being shut down.

Impact Senga continues to experience a seamless transition into New York's closer role while Devin Williams (shoulder) is on the injured list. The right-hander has now successfully converted each of his first three save chances, and he's also submitted five consecutive scoreless outings as a reliever. Given Senga's 9.66 ERA and 1.80 WHIP over 31.2 innings as a starter, it's hard to envision the Mets moving the hurler back into the rotation again this year even after Williams returns.

Impact Scott pitched into the seventh inning for the first time all season, though he was taken yard for the first time since July 3 in Atlanta. The right-hander has yielded mixed results recently, giving up at least three runs while hitting a batter in three straight starts, but he has tallied at least six strikeouts in six consecutive outings now. Scott will take a promising 3.51 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 105:35 K:BB over 84.2 innings into his next scheduled appearance in Chicago against the White Sox.

The right-hander may have turned in his longest outing of the season Sunday, but he remains without a single quality start through 15 appearances on the year.
