Impact This was Bericoto's second game and first start back in the lineup after a nearly month-long absence due to a knee injury. The outfielder served as the designated hitter and got both of his hits off Tarik Skubal. Bericoto is batting .253 with a .731 OPS, five homers, 14 RBI, nine runs scored, four doubles and one stolen base over 35 games in the majors. He'll compete for a short-side platoon role to close out the campaign.

Impact After being placed on the 10-day injured list Aug. 24 with a bone bruise in his right knee, Bericoto returned to game action in Sacramento's 1-0 loss to Las Vegas on Wednesday, going 0-for-4. He reached base safely Thursday, hitting a leadoff single in the sixth inning before coming around to score. The 24-year-old slashed .244/.253/.419 with 12 RBI, seven runs scored, four long balls and a stolen base across 87 big-league plate appearances before landing on the IL.

Impact Bericoto has gradually built up his workload over the past week as he recovers from a bone bruise in his right knee, and he's now been cleared to test his knee in a true game setting. He'll likely need a handful of minor-league at-bats after spending a little more than two weeks on the injured list, but he could still return sometime in mid-September.
