Returns to spring action Manager Bud Black said Kinley (oblique) is fine after throwing a scoreless inning during Thursday's spring game against the Angels, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.

Impact The 30-year-old had been sidelined since March 7 with left oblique soreness, but he returned to game action Thursday and had no issues. Kinley had a 5.32 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 26:12 K:BB over 23.2 innings for the Rockies last season and is expected to be on the Opening Day roster.

Diagnosed with oblique soreness Kinley has been diagnosed with left oblique soreness, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

Impact Manager Bud Black revealed Saturday that Kinley has been dealing with a side issue, and he's now been officially diagnosed with an oblique injury. The right-hander threw a side session Friday and is slated to throw in a simulated game Sunday. Whether Kinley's injury affects his status for Opening Day remains to be seen.

Dealing with side issue Rockies manager Bud Black revealed Saturday that Kinley has been dealing with a side issue recently, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.

Impact Kinley hasn't pitched in a Cactus League since March 7, but he threw a side session Friday and is scheduled to throw a simulated game Sunday, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports. It's not yet clear whether he'll be healthy in time for the start of the regular season. Once Kinley is fully healthy, he should serve as a late reliever for the Rockies although he should be considered unlikely to be in the mix for save chances.
