Inks minors deal with Mets McGough signed a two-year minor-league contract with the Mets on Thursday, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.

Impact McGough made seven appearances (one start) with the White Sox's Triple-A affiliate during 2025, posting a 9.00 ERA and 2.20 WHIP over 15 innings before announcing his retirement in May. Now committed to playing again, the 27-year-old will look to get back on track with the Mets and likely begin the season at Triple-A Syracuse.

Shipped to White Sox The Orioles traded McGough to the White Sox on Tuesday in exchange for Eloy Jimenez, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports.

Impact McGough began the 2024 campaign in Double-A but quickly earned a promotion to Triple-A, where he's remained effective with a 2.08 ERA and 1.11 WHIP through 34.2 innings out of the bullpen. Given his production in the minors and the White Sox's lack of MLB bullpen depth, it's possible the 26-year-old southpaw cracks the major leagues before the end of the season.
