Scott Effross - Will face hitters soon Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Monday that Effross (hamstring) will throw live batting practice soon, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.
Impact Out since late February with a Grade 2 hamstring strain, Effross began a throwing program in early April and is ready to progress to facing hitters. He should be ready for a rehab assignment soon, although there's no timetable for the reliever's return to the Yankees' bullpen.

Luis Gil - Begins throwing program Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Monday that Gil (lat) began a throwing program Sunday, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.
Impact Gil's throwing progression had been pushed back because his right lat strain wasn't fully healed yet, but he played catch Sunday and felt fine a day later Monday. It will be a slow ramp-up for the right-hander, as Gil was shut down for two months. He won't be ready to rejoin the Yankees' rotation until at least June.

Marcus Stroman - Still having knee problems Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Monday that Stroman still has discomfort in his injured left knee, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.
Impact Stroman has been shelved for more than two weeks with left knee inflammation and was cleared to play catch in mid-April. However, he's steal experiencing lingering soreness and it's not clear when he might be ready to throw off a mound. Stroman appears to be multiple weeks away from a return.
