Across 26 major-league games this season, Banks has a 5.86 ERA, 1.92 WHIP, two holds and a 31:13 K:BB across 27.2 innings.

Will be recalled Saturday The Phillies will recall Banks from Triple-A Lehigh Valley prior to Saturday's game in Kansas City, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

Serving as opener Banks will serve as the Phillies' opening pitcher in Friday's game versus the Brewers, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Impact Banks holds a 6.08 ERA on the season, but a 2.75 FIP and 27 strikeouts over 23.2 innings point to some bad luck. He'll handle the first inning or two for the Phillies before turning things over to bulk reliever Andrew Painter.

Manages first hold Tuesday Banks (0-1) picked up a hold Tuesday versus the Nationals, allowing one run on three hits and no walks in 1.2 innings.

Impact The Phillies were working with a three-run lead when Banks entered, so Banks was able to hang on for his first hold of the season. The southpaw had a relatively long leash against a lefty-heavy Washington lineup, tossing 37 pitches Tuesday, which suggests Philadelphia is comfortable assigning Banks to record more than three outs if the situation calls for it.
