Impact Palacios had a strong performance in Sunday's Grapefruit League game, collecting two hits in three at-bats -- including a double. Manager Kevin Cash also noted Palacios's strong play in right field, per Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times. He may not have a regular starting role at one position, though Palacios's defensive versatility should mean he remains in the lineup several days each week.

Shane Baz - Throws 50 pitches in spring debut Baz threw three scoreless innings while striking out two, walking one and allowing two hits in Sunday's Grapefruit League game.
Impact The outing was Baz's spring debut, and he threw 50 pitches -- 33 of which went for strikes. His velocity was also excellent, as he hit 100.6 mph with his first pitch of the game, per Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times. Baz will presumably be in the big-league rotation to begin the season, though Topkin did note the team has not committed to its five starters at this point in spring.

Ben Rortvedt - Returns to action as DH on Saturday Rortvedt (shoulder) went 0-for-2 with a strikeout in Saturday's 10-1 loss to the Mets in Grapefruit League play.
Impact Rortvedt played for the first time since receiving an injection in his sore right shoulder early last week, though he was limited to a non-defensive role. Per Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times, Rortvedt will be available off the bench again Monday versus Atlanta, but if called upon to play, the 27-year-old will most likely replace starting designated hitter Eloy Jimenez. According to MLB.com, the Rays are targeting Thursday's game versus the Phillies for Rortvedt's return to catching duty, assuming his throwing is no longer compromised by the shoulder issue.
