Calls end to career Kazmar announced his retirement from professional baseball Nov. 15.

Impact The 37-year-old ended his 17-year professional career in storybook fashion in 2021, as the longtime minor-league infielder received a call-up to Atlanta from Triple-A Gwinnett in April and played in three games with the big club. Kazmar's April 17 appearance with Atlanta marked his first big-league action in 13 years, after he previously received a cup of coffee with the Padres in 2008. Though Atlanta outrighted Kazmar off its 40-man roster in May and he remained at Gwinnett for the remainder of the season, he'll still receive a World Series ring for playing with the big club earlier in the campaign.

Impact Kazmar was sent down by Atlanta on Saturday, and he'll now be removed from the 40-man roster. The 36-year-old has appeared in just two major-league games to begin the season and has gone 0-for-2 at the plate.

Impact Kazmar has spent a pair of brief stints on the big-league roster but has gotten into just three games, all off the bench, going 0-for-2 at the plate.
