Steals base in extra-inning win Slater went 0-for-3 with two walks and a stolen base in Wednesday's 3-2 extra-inning win over the Padres.
Impact One of Slater's walks came in the third inning, and he added his first steal of the year soon after. The 28-year-old outfielder is seeing an everyday role -- he's slashing .174/.269/.304 with a homer, one RBI, one run scored and a stolen base. Expect him to hit near the top of the order versus southpaws, while he'll typically shift to the bottom third of the lineup against right-handed pitchers.

Allows tying run Wednesday Rogers gave up one run on one hit and struck out one in one inning in Wednesday's 3-2 extra-inning win over the Padres. He was charged with a blown save.
Impact Rogers allowed a game-tying solo home run to Wil Myers in the eighth inning. Through four outings, Rogers has produced mixed results -- he's got two holds and two blown saves. The right-hander carries a 2.45 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 3:1 K:BB across 3.2 innings so far. Jake McGee's stellar start to the year has relegated Rogers to a setup role to begin 2021.

Earns win Wednesday McGee (1-0) pitched a perfect ninth inning with one strikeout and earned the win in Wednesday's extra-inning victory over the Padres.
Impact McGee entered the game in a non-save situation and did his job. The Giants took the lead in the top of the 10th inning, making McGee the pitcher of record after Wandy Peralta locked down the save. The 34-year-old McGee has looked good in the closing role so far -- he has allowed just one walk and struck out five across four innings.

Cranks second homer Myers went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Wednesday against the Giants.
Impact Myers took Tyler Rogers deep in his final at-bat of the game to knot the game at two. It was his second home run of the season and first since Opening Day. Myers has collected at least one hit in all but one of his starts, four of which have gone for extra bases.

Another eight punchouts Snell allowed two earned runs on two hits and four walks while striking out eight across five innings Wednesday against the Giants. He did not factor into the decision.
Impact Snell allowed a two-run home run in the second inning, but otherwise had little trouble with the Giants. Though his four walks stand out, three of his free passes came in the fourth inning -- one of which was intentional. Even with that inefficiency, Snell needed only 87 pitches to retire 15 batters. Through two starts with the Padres, he's allowed two earned runs across 9.2 innings while racking up an 18:6 K:BB. Snell currently lines up to make his next start Tuesday at Pittsburgh.

Slugs second homer, steals bag Ruf went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and a stolen base Wednesday against the Padres.
Impact Ruf was in the lineup in place of Alex Dickerson with lefty Blake Snell on the mound. He launched his second home run of the season, both of which have come against southpaws. He'll likely continue to get his at-bats primarily when he has the handedness advantage, meaning Dickerson should see the majority of playing time in left field as the season wears on.

Extra-inning save Peralta didn't allow a baserunner and struck out one across one inning to pick up the save Wednesday against the Padres.
Impact Peralta entered the game in the 10th inning with a one-run lead and managed to strand the runner starting at second base. He earned the save opportunity because both Tyler Rogers and Jake McGee pitched prior to extra frames. While he's not likely to earn many more saves this season barring injury, Peralta pitched has pitched a scoreless three innings to begin the campaign.
