Patrick Bailey - On bench Thursday Bailey isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Mets, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Impact Bailey will take a seat Thursday after going just 2-for-18 (.111) with six strikeouts through his first six games of the year. Daniel Susac will catch instead for left-handed starter Robbie Ray and bat eighth.

Blade Tidwell - Recalled from Sacramento The Giants recalled Tidwell from Triple-A Sacramento on Thursday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Impact After being sent down to Triple-A to begin the regular season, Tidwell will quickly receive a call-up to the majors to replace the injured Jose Butto (forearm). Tidwell, 24, gave up 15 earned runs over 15 innings with the Mets last year, but he kicked off the 2026 campaign by striking out three batters over 2.2 scoreless innings with Sacramento.

José Buttó - Lands on IL The Giants placed Butto on the 15-day injured list Thursday with right forearm fatigue, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Impact Butto made an early exit from his appearance against the Padres on Wednesday due to a forearm issue, and he'll now spend at least the next couple of weeks on the injured list getting his forearm back to full strength. Blade Tidwell will come up from Triple-A Sacramento to take Butto's place in the bullpen.
