Impact Ramirez will remain in the organization after he cleared waivers when the Mets designated him for assignment Tuesday. New York claimed Ramirez off waivers from the Cardinals on July 21, but he never appeared in a game for the Mets before being booted off the 40-man roster.

Designated for assignment Ramirez was designated for assignment by the Mets on Tuesday, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports.

Impact Ramirez appeared in just one game for Triple-A Syracuse after being claimed off waivers by the Mets on July 21, allowing two runs in one inning July 25. He'll once again be placed on waivers, though it's very possible he'll go unclaimed given his lack of success at any level this season.

Impact Ramirez was sent down by the Cardinals in early July, but he was apparently placed on outright waivers recently. The right-hander has been assigned to Triple-A Syracuse going forward. He made 19 starts at Triple-A Memphis earlier in the season and posted a 4.82 ERA and 1.21 WHIP in 28 innings.

Impact Ramirez made just one relief appearance during his time on the major-league roster, and he allowed three runs on one hit and two walks in a third of an inning. He'll head back to the Triple-A club after right-hander Justin Miller was claimed off waivers from the Nationals in a corresponding move.

Impact Ramirez made his major-league debut last year but began the 2021 season with Triple-A Memphis. He made 17 relief appearances with the minor-league club and posted a 5.19 ERA and 27:8 K:BB in 26 innings. The right-hander is available to throw as many as 40-50 pitches in an outing, and manager Mike Shildt hasn't ruled out using Ramirez as an opener at some point, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Impact Ramirez gave up four consecutive home runs as he was charged with the loss against the White Sox on Sunday, so it's not entirely surprising to see him return to alternate camp so he can sort things out. It's unclear whether the right-hander will return to the majors at some point during the 2020 season. The Cardinals added Nabil Crismatt to the active roster to take Ramirez's spot in the bullpen.
