Rejoins big club The Padres recalled Kerr from Triple-A El Paso prior to Wednesday's game against Atlanta.

Impact Kerr joined the San Diego bullpen as a replacement for Nabil Crismatt (hip), who was placed on the 15-day injured list. Over his six appearances at El Paso this season, the lefty struck out six over 6.1 innings while pitching to a 2.84 ERA and 1.64 WHIP.

Impact Kerr spent most of last season in El Paso as well, logging a 5.08 ERA and 1.84 WHIP in 44.1 innings. He was able to limit runs a bit better during the spring, but allowing seven hits and four walks over 4.2 innings indicates there is plenty of work yet to be done for the 28-year-old lefty.

Traded to Padres Kerr and Corey Rosier were sent from the Padres to the Mariners on Saturday in exchange for Adam Frazier, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

Impact Kerr looked good in 39.2 innings in the upper minors last season, striking out 36.8 percent of opposing batters en route to a 3.18 ERA. He turned 27 in September, however, so those numbers may not be quite as exciting as they look on the surface. The lefty was added to the Mariners' 40-man roster to protect him from the Rule 5 draft prior to the deal, which should give him a good chance of making his debut for the Padres this season.
