Moved to 60-day IL The Cardinals transferred Urias (elbows) to the 60-day injured list Friday, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Impact The transaction frees up a spot on the 40-man roster for the addition of Blaze Jordan. Urias has been out since early May with tennis elbow in his right arm, and he had to be pulled off a rehab assignment last week after developing the same injury to his other elbow. There's no timetable for his return.

Cardinals News: JJ Wetherholt's absence, Hunter Dobbins joins rotation, Ramon Urias and Nathan Church update Recapping the Cardinals' busy week on the transaction log
JUNE 6 • REDBIRDRANTS.COM
Removed from rehab assignment Urias (elbow) returned to St. Louis to undergo an examination on his left elbow, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.
Impact Urias landed on the 10-day injured list in early May due to right elbow lateral epicondylitis, but he came out of his rehab assignment with Triple-A Memphis on Friday due to pain in his left elbow. The result of Saturday's tests will determine the next steps for Urias' rehab program.
JUNE 6 • ROTOWIRE
Nearing rehab assignment Urias (elbow) is expected to begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Memphis as soon as this weekend, Derrick Goold and Amber Winkler of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch report.
Impact Urias is nearly ready for game action after being sidelined for the past month with right elbow lateral epicondylitis. The veteran infielder should be ready to rejoin the Cardinals' roster by mid-June, and Urias might see an uptick in playing time, given Nolan Gorman's struggles.
JUNE 3 • ROTOWIRE
Taking batting practice, throwing Urias (elbow) has resumed taking batting practice and is going through a throwing program, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Impact Urias has been shelved for nearly a month with tennis elbow, but he's making some strides in his recovery. There's no word yet on when he might be ready for a rehab assignment, but it shouldn't be far off.
JUNE 2 • ROTOWIRE
Cardinals Injury Update: Lars Nootbaar nears return, Ramon Urias progressing The Cardinals could see the return of two key position players in the near future.
MAY 26 • REDBIRDRANTS.COM
Will resume throwing soon Urias' (elbow) resumption of a throwing program is considered imminent, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.
Impact Working his way back from tennis elbow, Urias has progressed to taking dry swings and doing plyometric exercises. He'll resume throwing any day now but is likely still 1-to-2 weeks away from a rehab assignment.
MAY 25 • ROTOWIRE
Taking dry swings this week Urias (elbow) will begin taking dry swings this week, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Impact Urias' recovery from tennis elbow is coming along slowly but surely. He will continue building up his hitting progression and is expected to be sidelined several more weeks. Urias put up a .595 OPS with a pair of home runs in his first 25 games for the Cardinals before getting hurt.
MAY 21 • ROTOWIRE
Gets elbow injury reevaluated Urias was scheduled to get his injured right elbow reevaluated by a doctor Friday, Daniel Guerrero of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Impact Out since early May with tennis elbow, Urias has spent the past week getting treatment and doing strengthening exercises, and he was able to progress to on-field work pregame Friday. It's unclear what the result was from Friday's doctor visit, but Urias could get clearance to ramp up his activities. The veteran infielder is eligible to return now but does not yet have a timetable.

Padres take on the Cardinals in first of 4-game series

The San Diego Padres host the St. Louis Cardinals to start a four-game series
MAY 7 • Associated Press
Goes to IL with tennis elbow The Cardinals placed Urias on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with right elbow lateral epicondylitis.
Impact It's "tennis elbow" in layman's terms. Urias did miss a bit of action during spring training with what was simply called arm soreness at the time, so it's possible this is an injury that's bothered him off and on since then. Thomas Saggese is taking Urias' spot on the active roster.

Swats second homer Urias went 3-for-4 with a home run, three RBI and two runs scored in Monday's loss to the Nationals.
Impact It was the second homer of the season for Urias, totaled a season-high three RBI on Monday. The infielder is still likely to see most of his playing time versus left-handers going forward despite drawing a start against right-hander Zack Littell, as JJ Wetherholt and Nolan Gorman figure to see the bulk of the reps at second and third base, respectively, in 2026.

Returns to spring lineup Urias (elbow) will start at third base and bat third in Wednesday's Grapefruit League game against the Astros.
Impact Urias will make his return to the St. Louis spring lineup for the first time since March 9, after he had been temporarily held out of action due to elbow soreness. The Cardinals' willingness to deploy him in the infield rather than at designated hitter in his return suggests that the elbow issue is no longer affecting his throwing. Urias is likely to serve as a utility infielder for the Cardinals, with most of his starts expected to come against left-handed pitching when St. Louis is at full strength.
