Trea Turner - Homers again Wednesday Turner went 1-for-4 with a home run, two RBI and a stolen base in Wednesday's 3-0 win over the Padres.
Impact Turner helped seal the victory in the ninth inning by taking Ron Marinaccio deep for a solo homer, his seventh of the season. He also swiped his 11th base of the year in the sixth inning. While Turner has struggled overall in 2026, he has still flashed occasional power lately, hitting three homers over his last 10 games despite batting just 7-for-40 (.175) during that stretch. After winning the National League batting title last season with a .304 average and .812 OPS, Turner has yet to consistently find that same rhythm this year. He's currently slashing .226/.279/.358 with nine doubles, 19 RBI and 34 runs scored across 244 plate appearances.

José Alvarado - Picks up first save Wednesday Alvarado earned the save Wednesday against the Padres, allowing one hit while striking out two in a scoreless ninth inning.
Impact With Jhoan Duran pitching in four of the previous five days, Alvarado was called upon to protect a three-run lead in the ninth inning. The left-hander worked around a one-out single by Xander Bogaerts and closed out the game for his first save of the season. It marked Alvarado's first appearance since May 20 after he had allowed runs in three of his previous four outings. The reliever now owns a 5.79 ERA, 1.88 WHIP and 26:8 K:BB to go along with seven holds across 18.2 innings.

Walker Buehler - Dealt tough-luck loss Wednesday Buehler (3-3) took the loss Wednesday against the Phillies, allowing two runs on three hits while striking out two over 5.1 innings.
Impact Buehler was excellent for most of the night, facing the minimum through five innings, but after allowing a single and a hit-by-pitch in the sixth with Kyle Schwarber due up, San Diego opted to turn to left-hander Adrian Morejon despite Buehler sitting at only 58 pitches. The move backfired as both inherited runners eventually came around to score, and the Padres' offense once again failed to provide Buehler with enough run support, saddling the right-hander with the loss. He has now limited opponents to two or fewer earned runs in six of his last nine starts and owns a 4.88 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 43:18 K:BB across 51.2 innings. Buehler is slated for a rematch against Philadelphia in his next outing.

Cristopher Sánchez - Makes history with scoreless streak Sanchez (6-2) earned the win Wednesday against the Padres, allowing six hits while striking out nine over seven scoreless innings.
Impact Sanchez continued his historic run by throwing seven more scoreless innings, surpassing Hall of Famer Grover Alexander for the longest scoreless innings streak by a Phillies pitcher. The left-hander's streak now sits at 44.2 consecutive innings, eclipsing Alexander's 41-inning mark set during the 1911 season. Wednesday, Sanchez threw 67 of his 100 pitches for strikes while piling up 18 whiffs, and after his exit, the Phillies bullpen completed the full-game shutout. The ace left-hander now owns an MLB-best 1.47 ERA alongside a 1.12 WHIP and 95:16 K:BB across 79.1 innings. The 29-year-old is currently lined up for a rematch against San Diego in his next scheduled start, where he'll look to extend his historic streak.
