INJURIES

Back to bench in Soler's return Peraza is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Padres.
Impact Peraza went 7-for-18 (.389 average) with two home runs, one double, three walks, two stolen bases, four RBI and four runs while starting in each of the last five games at either second base or third base, but the Angels won't have room for him in the lineup Sunday while the team welcomes Jorge Soler (suspension) back from a four-game absence. Though he looks set to move back into more of a part-time role with the Angels back to full strength, Peraza should play regularly versus left-handed pitching and will continue to push Adam Frazier for playing time at second base against righties.

Perfect at plate in win Peraza went 3-for-3 with a solo home run and walk in Tuesday's 7-1 win over the Yankees.
Impact After Mike Trout, Jo Adell and Jorge Soler all took Ryan Weathers deep for solo homers in the top of the first inning, Peraza answered with a solo shot of his own in the third, sending a changeup over the wall in left field. Peraza has started 13 of the Angels' 18 games to begin the season, seeing action at both second and third base. He's slashing .267/.327/.511 with three home runs, five RBI, four runs scored, one stolen base and a 4:12 BB:K across 50 plate appearances.

Retreating to bench Monday Peraza is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Yankees, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
Impact Peraza manned the keystone in 11 of the Angels' first 13 games, but the position has turned into a three-man timeshare of late. Upon returning from the injured list, Vaughn Grissom made a pair of starts against left-handed pitchers over the weekend, while Peraza and Adam Frazier have now made two starts over the Angels' last four matchups with right-handed starters. Peraza occupied third base in Sunday's 9-6 win over the Reds and came through with solo home run, but he's slashing an unremarkable .214/.267/.405 over 46 plate appearances on the season.

Knocks second homer Peraza went 1-for-5 with a home run and an additional RBI in Sunday's 9-6 win against the Reds.
Impact Peraza belted a solo homer in the fourth inning and notched another RBI on a groundout in the seventh. The veteran infielder started at third base Sunday after being held out of the lineup the previous two days. Peraza is slashing just .214/.267/.405 with two long balls, three RBI and a stolen base through 46 plate appearances on the season. He may be in and out of the lineup, as Yoan Moncada and Vaughn Grissom are likely to get frequent starts at third and second base, which is where Peraza has logged most of his work this season.

Not starting Sunday Peraza is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mariners, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.

Out of Sunday's lineup Peraza is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Astros, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Impact Peraza has opened the season as the Angels' primary second baseman, and he's gone 4-for-11 with a homer while starting the first three games of the year. Adam Frazier will pick up a start at the keystone Sunday to close out the series in Houston.

Draws start at second base Peraza will start at second base and bat ninth in Thursday's opener against the Astros.
Impact The right-handed-hitting Peraza will get the first crack at the keystone even as the Astros send righty Hunter Brown to the mound. Lefty bat Adam Frazier will also see reps at second base, but it seems he's behind Peraza in the early pecking order.

In mix for starts at keystone Peraza is in contention for starts at second base early in the season, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
Impact Christian Moore and Kyren Paris were optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake on Saturday, and the Angels have yet to decide who will be their primary option at second base. Left-handed-batting Adam Frazier may have the upper hand, but manager Kurt Suzuki emphasized Monday that the team hasn't yet settled on a starter, saying the competition "might come down to the wire." Suzuki also stated that the Angels may opt to go with a modified platoon based on matchups, and Peraza could very well be part of that mix along with Frazier and Vaughn Grissom (hand). Peraza is out of minor-league options and has had a great spring, slashing .341/.386/.634 with two homers, six doubles, eight RBI and five stolen bases.

Shining in spring play Peraza went 3-for-4 with a solo home run, a double and two stolen bases Sunday in a Cactus League loss to the Athletics.
Impact Peraza's big game boosted his spring slash line to .320/.370/.720. He ranks second on the Angels in both homers (two) and RBI (seven) while tying for second in steals (four). Peraza is out of minor-league options and is expected to break camp with the Angels as a utility infielder, but he could feasibly move into a larger role if Christian Moore struggles to begin the campaign.

Homers off bench in loss Peraza went 1-for-1 with a solo home run and a walk in Sunday's 11-2 loss to the Mariners.
Impact Peraza hit his fifth homer of the season and his second as an Angel after coming into the game as a defensive replacement for Yoan Moncada (ankle). If Moncada misses additional time, Peraza could be a candidate to gain playing time at third base moving forward, though he'll have to compete with Luis Rengifo and Chris Taylor. Peraza is slashing a paltry .173/.234/.268 with 19 RBI, 23 runs scored and six stolen bases over 239 plate appearances between the Angels and the Yankees this season.
