Sent to minor-league camp The Giants reassigned Margevicius to minor-league camp Monday, Justice delos Santos of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Impact Margevicius inked a minor-league deal with the Giants in December that included an invitation to spring training. He appeared in five Cactus League games this spring, allowing seven earned runs on 18 hits and one walk across 12 innings while striking out six. Margevicius is likely to open the 2026 season with Triple-A Sacramento.

Signs with Giants as NRI The Giants signed Margevicius to a minor-league contract Thursday that includes an invitation to spring training, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Impact Margevicius pitched in Taiwan in 2024 and began 2025 in the Mexican League before playing at Triple-A Toledo in the Tigers organization. The left-hander hasn't pitched in the big leagues since 2021. Margevicius will likely open the 2026 campaign in the rotation at Triple-A Sacramento.

Impact After stints in the Chinese Professional Baseball League in 2024 and in the Mexican League earlier this season, Margevicius will make his return to affiliated ball for the first time since the 2023, when he made starts at the Double-A and Triple-A levels in the Atlanta organization. The 28-year-old southpaw previously saw big-league action with the Padres and Mariners between 2019 and 2021, but he's unlikely to merit serious consideration for a spot on the Tigers' major-league roster anytime soon.
