Tim Hill - Notches hold Friday Hill struck out two batters in a perfect inning of relief to earn a hold against the Giants on Friday

Impact Hill entered in the seventh inning with a runner on base and New York up 3-0. He kept it that way, fanning two of the three batters he faced and needing just 12 pitches to retire San Francisco in order. Hill's usage was a good indication that he'll be used in high leverage this season. The lefty registered 15 holds in 2025, his highest mark since 2021.

Giancarlo Stanton - Swats first homer Friday Stanton went 2-for-4 with a solo home run Friday in a 3-0 win over San Francisco.

Impact Stanton provided the final run of the low-scoring affair with a 414-foot solo shot in the sixth inning. The slugger had a great spring, belting four homers in just 29 plate appearances, and he's gone 4-for-8 with a pair of RBI in his first two contests of the campaign. Stanton hasn't reached the 30-homer mark in a regular season since 2022, but that's largely due to a plethora of injuries that have cost him over 200 games across the past three years.

According to Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle, Walker is a candidate to pitch high-leverage innings this season along with Matt Gage, Erik Miller and Jose Butto, all of whom made appearances Friday. Over 68 regular-season outings in 2025, Walker posted a 4.11 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 60:18 K:BB across 61.1 innings.

Impact Gage entered in the ninth inning and threw eight of his 14 pitches for strikes. According to Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle, the left-hander is a candidate to pitch high-leverage innings this season along with Ryan Walker, Erik Miller and Jose Butto, all of whom made appearances Friday. Gage appeared in 27 regular-season games for San Francisco last season, recording a 3.91 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 24:10 K:BB across 25.1 innings.
