Grant Hartwig - Optioned to Triple-A The Mets optioned Hartwig to Triple-A Syracuse on Friday.

Impact Hartwig will serve as the Mets' roster casualty in order to clear a space for Joey Lucchesi, who was called up for a spot start Friday. Hartwig has put up a 4.74 ERA and 1.42 WHIP through 24.2 innings since being selected from Triple-A in June, and he could return to the majors if the Mets ever need a fresh bullpen arm.

Joey Lucchesi - Promoted for start The Mets recalled Lucchesi (knee) from Triple-A Syracuse ahead of his start Friday against the Cardinals.

Impact A knee issue has kept Lucchesi out of action for roughly a month, but he's been deemed healthy enough for a spot start with the big-league club. The 30-year-old southpaw holds a 4.45 ERA across 60.2 innings in the majors since 2021 and will likely return to Triple-A after Friday's game.
