Moving up to Double-A Martorella was promoted from High-A Fort Wayne to Double-A San Antonio on Sunday, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Impact Martorella had a solid start to the season with the High-A club, slashing .256/.367/.446 with 16 home runs, 73 RBI, 70 runs and five stolen bases over 111 games. He'll have a chance to compete at the Double-A level late in the 2023 campaign.

In control at High-A Martorella has a .375 OBP, six home runs and more walks (21) than strikeouts (19) in 33 games for High-A Fort Wayne.

Impact At 22, Martorella is a tad old for the level and he will need to provide all his value with the bat, as he is already at the bottom of the defensive spectrum. However, his 1.11 BB/K ranks fifth in the Midwest League and his 149 wRC+ ranks third in the league among hitters 22 and younger.
