Byron Buxton - Struggling since return Buxton will start in center field and bat leadoff Monday against Cleveland.
Impact Since being reinstated from the 10-day injured list Aug. 27, Buxton has picked up starts in every game for the Twins. While the run of durability is encouraging for a player who has been extremely fragile in recent seasons, Buxton has struggled to recapture the elite form at the plate he displayed prior to landing on the shelf. In his first nine starts since returning from the IL, Buxton has gone 4-for-35 (.114 average) with two doubles, three runs and zero RBI while walking twice and striking out 11 times.

Max Kepler - On bench versus southpaw Kepler is out of the lineup for Monday's game against Cleveland.
Impact The lefty-hitting Kepler will head to the bench for the series opener with a southpaw (Logan Allen) on the bump for Cleveland. Platoon mate Rob Refsnyder replaces Kepler in right field.

Rob Refsnyder - Filling in for Max Kepler Refsnyder will start in right field and bat third Monday against Cleveland.
Impact Refsnyder will pick up his second start in three games, this time filling in for Max Kepler in right field. The lefty-hitting Kepler should be a fixture in the lineup versus right-handed pitching, but Refsnyder could still contend for a regular role in left field, which remains unsettled. Manager Rocco Baldelli will hand Brent Rooker the start in left in Monday's game, making Rooker the fourth different player in as many days to cover the position.

Luis Arraez - Idle versus lefty Arraez is out of the lineup for Monday's game in Cleveland.
Impact With southpaw Logan Allen on the mound for Cleveland, the lefty-hitting Arraez will duck out of the lineup, ending a stretch of three consecutive starts. Willians Astudillo will replace Arraez at third base.

Miguel Sanó - Rejoins lineup Sano (shoulder) will start at first base and bat fifth Monday against Cleveland.
Impact A bruised left shoulder kept Sano on the bench for Sunday's 6-5 win over the Rays, but the injury apparently isn't too much of a concern for the first baseman as the Twins begin a seven-game week. Since the beginning of August, Sano has provided a .235/.328/.490 slash line with seven home runs and one stolen base in 28 games.
