Fades in no-decision Mikolas did not factor into the decision Monday, allowing two runs on four hits and a walk over five innings against Seattle. He struck out two.
Impact The veteran starter held Seattle scoreless through five innings before running into trouble in the sixth frame, allowing two baserunners without recording an out before Gordon Graceffo came on and let both inherited runners -- plus two more -- cross the plate. While the season overall has been underwhelming for Mikolas, he's pieced together a solid stretch lately, logging a 2.25 ERA and 1.00 WHIP over 16 innings across his three most recent starts.

Holds Athletics in check in win Mikolas (7-10) earned the win Tuesday against Athletics, allowing one run on five hits and one walk with no strikeouts in six innings.
Impact Despite the season-low zero strikeouts, it was still one of Mikolas' finer performances of the year. It was only his eighth quality start in 2025, and it also was just the ninth time that he surrendered one run or zero this season. Mikolas will be trying to build on Tuesday's performance when he takes a 4.89 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 86:33 K:BB over 136.1 innings into his next outing, which is slated for next week against the Mariners at pitcher-friendly T-Mobile Park.

Bounces back in five strong innings Mikolas didn't factor into the decision Thursday against the Pirates, allowing one run on four hits and one walk in five innings. He struck out five.
Impact Thursday marked Mikolas' first start of one or zero earned runs allowed since July 25 against the Padres, and the five strikeouts were his most since July 30 versus the Marlins. It was an especially encouraging rebound performance as well, considering the veteran right-hander matched a season low with 2.2 innings his last time out in Tampa Bay. Mikolas likely benefited from a favorable spot at home Thursday against the last-place Pirates, but he could have a tougher time next week against an Athletics team with a .796 OPS since the beginning of August. For the year, he has a 5.04 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 86:32 K:BB through 130.1 frames.

Chased early in 10th loss Mikolas (6-10) took the loss Friday against the Rays, allowing five runs (four earned) on 10 hits and one walk in 2.2 innings. He struck out one.
Impact Mikolas matched his shortest outing of the season, and it was the third time this year that he yielded double-digit hits. Additionally, it was the seventh instance of 2025 that the veteran right-hander punched out a lone batter. While Mikolas does have a lackluster 5.17 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 81:31 K:BB across 125.1 innings, he should at least carry a bit of streaming appeal in deeper formats next week in a favorable home matchup versus the last-place Pirates.

Walks five in no-decision Mikolas did not factor into the decision Sunday against the Yankees, allowing three runs on four hits and five walks across five innings. He struck out one.
Impact While Mikolas issued a season-high five walks Sunday, the right-hander managed to keep the Yankees off the board until the fourth inning, where they'd score three runs on their only four hits against the right-hander. It's been an up-and-down year overall for the 36-year-old Mikolas -- his ERA now sits at 4.99 with a 1.30 WHIP and 80:30 K:BB across 24 starts (122.2 innings). He's currently in line to face the Rays on the road in his next outing.

Settles for quality start Mikolas didn't factor into the decision Monday against the Rockies, allowing two runs on four hits and one walk in 6.2 innings. He struck out three.
Impact Mikolas brought a no-hit bid into the sixth inning, but it was broken up by a Tyler Freeman single during the sixth frame. The quality start was the veteran right-hander's sixth of the season, though he's exceeded five strikeouts just four times through 23 outings on the year. Mikolas has a lackluster 4.97 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 79:25 K:BB over 117.2 frames, so he doesn't shape up as an appealing streamer this weekend at home versus a dangerous Yankees lineup.
