INJURIES

Signs with San Francisco as NRI The Giants re-signed Del Pozo to a minor-league contract Friday that includes an invitation to spring training, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Impact Del Pozo inked a minor-league deal with the Giants last June as he continued his rehab from Tommy John surgery but never pitched in a game in 2024. He appears healthy now and will look to return to the majors for the first time since 2021, although an initial assignment is Triple-A Sacramento is likely.
FEBRUARY 7, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Released by Tigers Del Pozo was released by the Tigers on Wednesday, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.
Impact Del Pozo pitched for Triple-A Toledo earlier this season before undergoing Tommy John surgery in June. He'll be sidelined until around midseason next year and now will be on the lookout for another organization.
AUGUST 9, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Gets Tommy John surgery The Tigers announced Wednesday that Del Pozo recently underwent Tommy John surgery on his left elbow, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
Impact Del Pozo has compiled a 6.05 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 23:5 K:BB in 19.1 innings out of the Triple-A Toledo bullpen this season but hadn't pitched since May 19. He was moved to the 7-day injured list a day later due to the left elbow sprain and presumably had his surgery at some point over the past three weeks. Assuming Del Pozo faces the normal 12-to-14-month recovery timeline associated with Tommy John surgeries, he likely won't be ready to pitch in games until the second half of the 2024 campaign.
JUNE 14, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Detroit Tigers bring back lefty reliever Miguel Del Pozo on minor-league contract Detroit Tigers left-handed reliever Miguel Del Pozo appeared in 89 games out of Triple-A Toledo's bullpen over the past two seasons.
OCTOBER 28, 2022 • FREEP.COM
Inks minor-league deal Del Pozo signed a minor-league deal with the Tigers on Thursday.
Impact Del Pozo spent the entirety of 2022 with the Tigers organization in Triple-A Toledo, where he put up a 3.88 ERA and 11.2 K/9 over 53.1 innings out of the bullpen. His last major-league appearance came in 2021 but considering his impressive Triple-A resume over the last two seasons (3.44 ERA, 1.07 WHIP), there's a case for Del Pozo to appear in the big leagues at some point in 2023.
OCTOBER 27, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Accepts outright assignment Del Pozo cleared waivers and accepted an outright assignment to Triple-A Toledo on Thursday, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.
Impact Del Pozo was designated for assignment by Detroit on Wednesday, but he'll remain in the organization as the minor-league season gets underway. He made 34 appearances in Toledo last year and posted a 2.82 ERA and 1.00 WHIP in 38.1 innings.
APRIL 7, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Designated for assignment Del Pozo was designated for assignment by the Tigers on Wednesday, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
Impact Del Pozo was sent down by the Tigers in late March after he gave up five runs in one inning across two relief appearances this spring. He'll now lose his spot on the 40-man roster, and it's not yet clear whether he'll be claimed on waivers after posting a 2.82 ERA and 1.00 WHIP in 38.1 innings across 34 relief appearances at Triple-A Toledo last year.
APRIL 6, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Optioned to Triple-A Del Pozo was optioned to Triple-A Toledo on Saturday.
Impact Del Pozo made five appearances for the major-league club last year but spent most of the year in Toledo. Across his 34 relief outings in the minors, he posted a 2.82 ERA and 1.00 WHIP in 38.1 innings. While he won't make the Opening Day roster in 2022, it wouldn't be surprising to see the left-hander provide bullpen depth for the Tigers at some point.
MARCH 26, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Reinstated from COVID-19 IL Del Pozo (jaw/illness) was reinstated from the COVID-19 injured list Wednesday.
Impact Del Pozo sustained a jaw injury in late August and landed on the COVID-19 IL on Sept. 10 after he tested positive for the virus. However, the southpaw began a rehab assignment in late September and allowed one run on three hits and a walk while striking out two in two-thirds of an inning during his lone appearance. Del Pozo should be in line for a normal offseason following his activation.
