Sent to minors The Diamondbacks optioned Aguilar to Triple-A Reno on Monday.

Impact Aguilar was dispatched to the minors to create a spot on the 28-man active roster for closer Tyler Clippard (illness), who was reinstated from the COVID-19 injured list in a corresponding move. During his week-long stint with the big club, Aguilar made three relief appearances and gave up two hits and two walks over two scoreless innings.

Impact Aguilar made the first six appearances of his big-league career earlier in the year but failed to impress, allowing five runs in five innings while striking out just three batters. He hasn't been particularly good in Reno, either, posting a 4.66 ERA and 1.55 WHIP in 36.2 innings of work.

Impact Aguilar made three relief appearances during his week in Arizona's bullpen and allowed two runs on two hits and no walks while striking out one in two innings. He earned his first career major-league win Tuesday but will head back to the minors as part of a shift to make room for Joe Mantiply (undisclosed) and Jake Hager in the bullpen.
