Signs minors deal with Reds Chavis signed a minor-league contract with the Reds on Wednesday that includes an invitation to spring training, Kiley McDaniel of ESPN.com reports.

Impact Chavis spent the entirety of 2025 with the Dodgers' Triple-A affiliate, slashing .291/.350/.547 with 13 homers, 45 RBI and 45 runs scored across 283 plate appearances. The 30-year-old infielder will get a chance to compete for a roster spot during spring camp, but he'll most likely return to the minors to begin the '26 campaign.

Impact Chavis latched on with Los Angeles in February on a minor-league contract, batting .214 with two runs scored over 14 at-bats in seven games during spring training. The infielder will now likely begin the 2025 campaign with Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Impact Chavis spent last season at the Triple-A level split between the Mariners and White Sox organizations. The 29-year-old is a career .238/.283/.401 hitter over parts of five major-league seasons and is likely to begin the 2025 campaign at Triple-A Oklahoma City.

He opted out of his deal with Seattle on June 1 and will now look to carve out a role for himself with the White Sox. The 28-year-old has experience covering every base as well as in left field, and he could join the big-league club at some point if his bat remains hot at Triple-A Charlotte.

Impact Chavis signed with the Mariners in January as a non-roster invitee, but he will end up missing the cut after going 2-for-18 across eight games with two RBI and eight strikeouts. Chavis owns a .650 OPS since 2021 and will head to the minors looking to fight his way back onto the major-league bench.
