Optioned off active roster The Yankees optioned Schuemann to the Florida Complex League on Tuesday.

Impact He's clearing off the active roster in order to make space for the return of Jazz Chisholm (thumb). Schuemann reporting to the Yankees' FCL affiliate allows him to continue working out at the team's spring training complex in case he's needed in the future.

Impact Schuemann was brought up from Triple-A on Friday to make up for the loss of Ryan McMahon (thumb) but will now head back to the minors in preparation for Cody Bellinger's (hamstring) return from the IL on Sunday.
