Back with Atlanta on minors deal Atlanta re-signed Handley to a minor-league contract Saturday.

Impact Atlanta released Handley on Friday, but he was a free agent for just one day before opting to return to the organization. He'll serve as catching depth at Triple-A Gwinnett while Austin Wynns and Sandy Leon are needed at the big-league level until Drake Baldwin (oblique) and Sean Murphy (finger) return from the injured list.

Impact Handley arrived in the majors Saturday to provide insurance behind the plate after Adley Rutschman (ankle) landed on the IL, but the former will now return to the minors without playing a game for the O's. Cameron Foster was recalled from Norfolk in a corresponding move.
