Impact Pushed tossed a 20-pitch bullpen session Sunday and came out of it with no issues, clearing the way for him to pitch in rehab games. The rookie reliever is working his way back from right knee patellar tendinitis.

Impact Pushard threw at about 75 percent effort in his last side session Thursday, so he's taken another marginal step forward in his recovery from right knee patellar tendinitis. The rookie right-hander is expected to throw a live batting practice session in the coming days and could then head out on a minor-league rehab assignment later in the week.

Impact Pushard got knocked around in his major-league debut over the weekend, allowing three runs in an inning of work against the Rays, and now the reliever will miss at least the next two weeks of action. The Rule 5 pick was replaced on the roster and in the bullpen by Gordon Graceffo.

The 28-year-old is expected to fill a low-leverage role in the bullpen and will often be asked to cover multiple innings. In order for the Cardinals to maintain his rights, Pushard must remain on the major-league roster or injured list the entire season.

Selected in Rule 5 Draft The Cardinals selected Pushard with the seventh pick in the Rule 5 Draft on Wednesday.

Impact Pushard, a 28-year-old righty reliever from the Marlins organization, logged a 3.61 ERA, 1.16 WHIP, 73:23 K:BB and four saves in 62.1 innings across 49 appearances at Triple-A in 2025. The Cardinals should be able to plug Pushard in as a low-leverage reliever right away, given his experience and stuff, headlined by a mid-90s fastball and a couple solid breaking balls.
