Reaches three times in loss Garcia went 2-for-2 with a stolen base, a walk and a run scored in Thursday's loss to the Astros.
Impact Garcia singled and stole second in his first trip to the plate and was later thrown out while attempting to swipe a second bag, after drawing a walk in the fifth. The third baseman went on to reach three times in the contest and he's now hit safely in four straight. Over that brief stretch he's batting .500 (7-for-14) with three RBI, four runs and three stolen bases. Garcia has also logged multiple hits in three of his last six games.

Back on bench Wednesday Garcia is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Guardians.
Impact Garcia had picked up starts at either second base or third base in each of the last five games, going 6-for-19 with a home run, a double, two stolen bases and a walk during that stretch. The Royals faced left-handed starters in three of those contests, so Garcia may still be stuck in a part-time role in the Kansas City infield. With right-hander Tanner Bibee on the bump for the Guardians on Wednesday, Royals manager Matt Quatraro will go with Michael Massey at second base and Paul DeJong at third base.

Three hits in nightcap Garcia went 3-for-4 with a double, one RBI and two runs scored in a 9-4 win over the Guardians in the second game of Monday's doubleheader.
Impact Garcia went hitless in the matinee, which was the fourth time in five contests he had been held without a hit. The infielder bounced back in the nightcap, earning his first three-hit effort since he had four knocks May 21 versus the Tigers. Garcia is now at a .238/.285/.347 slash line with seven home runs, 23 doubles, a career-high 51 RBI, 81 runs scored and 30 stolen bases through 128 contests. He'll continue to split time between second base and third base, though Garcia is not guaranteed an everyday spot in the lineup.
AUGUST 27, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Homers Sunday Garcia went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Sunday's 11-3 loss to the Phillies.
Impact Garcia's homer was his first since July 7. Over 35 contests between long balls, the infielder hit .250 and added seven doubles, six RBI, 25 runs scored and nine stolen bases. He's still in the lineup more often than not, but the Royals have also deployed Paul DeJong at third base and Michael Massey and Adam Frazier at second base on occasion. Garcia is slashing .236/.284/.344 with seven homers, 30 steals, 50 RBI and 79 runs scored over 126 games this season.

Taking seat Monday Garcia is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Angels.
Impact Garcia took a seat in back-to-back games for the first time all year Wednesday and Friday but returned to the lineup for a pair of games against the Reds over the weekend. Once again, the 24-year-old is absent from the starting nine, giving way to Paul DeJong at third base Monday.
AUGUST 19, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
On bench again Garcia is absent from the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Reds.
Impact Garcia is out of the lineup for a second consecutive game, an especially interesting development considering the Royals had a team off day Thursday. It's unclear if Garcia is battling an injury, but this will be the first time the 24-year-old has sat in back-to-back games this season.
AUGUST 16, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Joins 30-steal club Garcia went 0-for-1 with two stolen bases and a run scored in Wednesday's 4-1 win over the Twins.
Impact Garcia entered the game as a pinch runner in the seventh inning and wreaked havoc on the basepaths by stealing second and third. He then scored on a Vinnie Pasquantino double. The pair of steals gave Garcia 30 thefts on 31 attempts this season, the first time he's reached that milestone. He's added a mediocre .236/.284/.341 slash line with six home runs, 48 RBI, 74 runs scored, 21 doubles and five triples over 118 contests. While he's no longer starting on an everyday basis, Garcia is firmly ahead of Paul DeJong for playing time at third base.
AUGUST 15, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Bowing out of starting nine Garcia is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Twins, Joel Goldberg of Bally Sports Kansas City reports.
Impact Garcia will get a breather as the Royals wrap up their series in Minnesota with a day game after a night game. He had started in each of Kansas City's last eight games, going 8-for-32 (.250 average) with four runs, three RBI and one stolen base.
AUGUST 14, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Picks up 28th steal Garcia went 1-for-5 with one RBI, a stolen base and one run scored in Saturday's 8-3 win over the Cardinals.
Impact Garcia has gone 9-for-37 (.243) over nine contests in August, adding three doubles and three steals this month. The infielder is up to 28 thefts on 29 attempts this year after swiping a bag following his RBI single in the seventh inning. Garcia is at a .238/.287/.345 slash line, six home runs, 48 RBI, 73 runs scored, 21 doubles and five triples over 115 contests. While he's still been able to make an impact on the basepaths, he's gotten on base at a .258 clip since the start of June, which continues to limit his effectiveness in fantasy since he hasn't displayed much power.

Sitting Saturday Garcia is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Tigers.
Impact Garcia will get a breather Saturday after going 2-for-10 with two runs scored and two stolen bases over the first two games of the series. Michael Massey will start at second base and batting sixth.
AUGUST 3, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Notches two thefts in victory Garcia went 1-for-5 with a run and two stolen bases in a 7-1 win against the Tigers on Thursday.
Impact Garcia made the most of his lone trip on the basepaths, following his first-inning single with a pair of thefts before coming home to score. The infielder is up to 27 stolen bases on the campaign, sixth-most in the majors. Garcia is batting just .237 this season, but he's been much better than that for nearly a month, hitting .302 over 63 at-bats since July 7.
AUGUST 2, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Swipes 25th bag Garcia went 2-for-6 with two runs scored and a stolen base in Wednesday's 10-3 win over the White Sox.
Impact The 24-year-old wasted no time in making an impact, singling, stealing second and scoring in the first inning. Garcia has been heating up to close the books on July, batting .302 (13-for-43) over his last 11 games with 13 runs and four of his 25 stolen bases on the season.
AUGUST 1, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Records 24th steal Garcia went 2-for-4 with a double, a stolen base and two runs scored in Monday's 8-5 win over the White Sox.
Impact Since Garcia was dropped from the leadoff spot July 7, he's batting .327 (16-for-49) with three extra-base hits and three steals over 15 contests. He's hit atop the order twice in that span, but has most often batted eighth and occasionally seventh. It appears he's doing more with less, and his speed makes him an interesting fantasy option even without the leadoff gig. Garcia has a career-high 24 steals to go with six home runs, 45 RBI, 64 runs scored, 18 doubles, five triples and a .238/.287/.350 slash line over 104 contests this season.

Getting breather Friday Garcia is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Cubs.
Impact Garcia started each of the Royals' first six games coming out of the All-Star break and will get the night off Friday. Nick Loftin will bat seventh and man the hot corner in Garcia's place.
JULY 26, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Nabs steal Friday Garcia went 1-for-3 with a walk, a stolen base and two runs scored in Friday's 7-1 win over the White Sox.
Impact After an uninspiring June, Garcia has steadied himself in July, batting .250 (9-for-36) over 12 contests. His steal Friday was his first since he swiped two bags June 28. The infielder is at a .231/.284/.344 slash line with 22 steals, six home runs, 43 RBI, 56 runs scored, 15 doubles and five triples over 96 games this season. Garcia's counting stats are likely to be less notable during the second half if he remains near the bottom of the order, as he's been replaced by Adam Frazier as the Royals' leadoff hitter against right-handed pitchers.
JULY 20, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Hitting bench Sunday Garcia is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Red Sox.
Impact After starting in six of the Royals' last seven contests, Garcia will get a breather Sunday in the club's final game before the All-Star break. Utility man Adam Frazier will enter the lineup in Garcia's stead, occupying third base and batting leadoff.
JULY 14, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Moving to bench for nightcap Garcia is out of the lineup for the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader with the Cardinals.
Impact Garcia started at second base in the Royals' 6-4 win in the early game, going 1-for-4 with a run scored. He'll receive a breather for the nightcap while Michael Massey covers the keystone.
JULY 10, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Breaks homer drought Garcia went 2-for-3 with a three-run home run during Sunday's 10-1 win over Colorado.
Impact Garcia hit leadoff in each of his previous 11 starts but was bumped down to eighth in the batting order Sunday. Despite the change, Garcia still was productive, hitting his first home run since May 17 with a three-run blast off Tanner Gordon in the first inning. On the year, Garcia is slashing .230/.283/.347 with six home runs and a 15.8 percent K rate.

Sitting Thursday Garcia isn't in the Royals' lineup Thursday against the Rays.
Impact Garcia will get a day to rest Thursday after going 1-for-7 with a walk and a run scored through the first two games of the series. His absence will move Michael Massey into second base while Vinnie Pasquantino serves as the DH, putting Salvador Perez at first with Freddy Fermin behind the plate.
JULY 4, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Nabs two bags in loss Garcia went 0-for-2 with two steals, two walks and one run scored in Tuesday's loss to the Marlins.
Impact Garcia drew a second consecutive start at the keystone and stole two bases in the first inning after leading off with a walk. The 24-year-old has struggled mightily in June, as he entered the contest slashing .145/.211/.169 with no homers and four steals across 90 plate appearances. The Kansas City infield became more crowded with CJ Alexander debuting and Michael Massey (back) returning from the injured list Monday (though Massey will serve as DH for now), so Garcia will have to start producing at the plate and on the basepaths to maintain a starting role.
