Loses spot on 40-man roster Castillo cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Toledo on Thursday.

Impact Castillo appeared in three games for the Tigers in 2022, so it's not a major surprise he won't remain on the 40-man roster through the offseason. He spent most of the year at Toledo, where he had a 1.74 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 39:11 K:BB over 41.1 innings.

Returning to minors Castillo was optioned to Triple-A Toledo after Thursday's extra-inning loss to the Guardians, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Impact The 27-year-old was called up from Triple-A over the weekend and delivered two scoreless frames in two appearances during his first taste of the big leagues. Castillo will return to Toledo, where he has a 1.56 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 32:10 K:BB across 34.2 innings.
