'I'm ready for this to stop': After getting DFA'd 4 times in 3 weeks, Kyle Tyler just wants a chance to pitch
"There's nothing that I can do to control those decisions," Kyle Tyler said. "Just have to keep taking it one day at a time."

DFA'd by Halos again
Tyler was designated for assignment by the Angels on Sunday.
Impact
Tyler was claimed off waivers by the Angels on Friday, and the organization has now designated him for assignment twice in the past month. The 25-year-old will likely report to Triple-A Salt Lake should he pass through waivers unclaimed this time around.

Back with Halos
Tyler was claimed off waivers by the Angels on Friday.
Impact
Tyler was designated for assignment by the Angels in mid-March, and he'll now return to the organization after brief stints with the Padres and Red Sox. The 25-year-old had a 2.92 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and a 6:6 K:BB in his first taste of big-league action last year, and he could be called up when the Halos are in need of some bullpen help.

Cast off roster
The Padres designated Tyler for assignment Thursday.
Impact
The transaction opens up a spot on the 40-man roster for outfielder Jose Azocar, whose contract was selected from the minors in advance of the Padres' Opening Day game Thursday in Arizona. Tyler held a spot on the Padres' 40-man roster for only two weeks after San Diego claimed the right-hander off waivers from the Red Sox.

Sent to Triple-A
The Padres optioned Tyler to Triple-A El Paso on Wednesday.
Impact
Tyler has been a fixture on MLB's transaction log this month, but at least this time, he'll stick around in the Padres organization after getting designated for assignment and subsequently claimed off waivers on two other occasions. Though he'll begin the season in El Paso, Tyler's status as a 40-man roster player will keep him on the short list for a promotion when the Padres are in need of a fresh relief arm.

Claimed by Padres
Tyler was claimed off waivers by the Padres on Saturday.
Impact
Tyler has now been part of three separate organizations over the last five days. The Red Sox claimed him off waivers from the Angels on Tuesday, only to turn around and waive him again two days later. He's now set to compete for a bullpen spot in San Diego, assuming he's finally able to settle down there.

DFA'd by Boston
Tyler was designated for assignment by the Red Sox on Thursday.
Impact
Tyler was claimed off waivers from the Angels on Tuesday, but he'll now be designated for assignment for the second time in less than a week. The right-hander posted a 3.66 ERA and 1.27 WHIP in 86 innings across 20 appearances (14 starts) in the minors last year and is in line to begin the 2022 campaign at Triple-A Worcester if he goes unclaimed on waivers.

Catches on with BoSox
The Red Sox claimed Tyler off waivers from the Angels on Tuesday and optioned him to Triple-A Worcester, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.
Impact
In a corresponding move, Boston designated infielder Hudson Potts for assignment to clear room on the 40-man roster for Tyler. The 25-year-old righty reached the big leagues for the first time in 2021, making all five of his appearances for the Angels out of the bullpen while submitting a 2.92 ERA and 1.14 WHIP in 12.1 innings. He's typically served as a starter for most of his minor-league career, but it's unclear in what capacity Boston plans to deploy Tyler as he heads to its Triple-A affiliate.

Forced to IL with toe sprain
Tyler was placed on the 10-day injured list Friday with a right toe sprain, retroactive to Wednesday.
Impact
Tyler has allowed four runs on eight hits while posting a 6:6 K:BB across 12.1 innings since receiving his first big-league call-up in late August. It's not entirely clear how the right-hander suffered the toe injury, but it could very possibly end his season. Tyler will be eligible to come off the injured list for the final two games of the regular season, but it's to be seen if he'll be ready in time.

Three scoreless frames in debut
Tyler pitched three scoreless innings against Texas on Sunday, allowing one hit while striking out two.
Impact
Tyler was called up to the Halos last weekend, but he didn't get an opportunity to pitch until Sunday. The right-hander handled the final three innings of the game for the Angels, throwing 29 of 44 pitches for strikes and allowing only one baserunner. He retired the first eight batters he faced before yielding a two-out ninth-inning double to DJ Peters. It was an altogether impressive debut for Tyler, who is expected to fill a long-relief role after working mostly as a starter in the minors earlier this seaosn.
