Turns in another quality start Leahy allowed two runs on six hits and a walk while striking out nine over six innings in a no-decision versus the Reds on Sunday.
Impact Leahy continues to impress -- this was the first time he's allowed multiple runs since June 17 versus the Padres. Over his four outings in July, he's given up just three runs across 20 innings while adding a 21:3 K:BB. Leahy is now at a 3.55 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 88:34 K:BB through 101.1 innings over 20 starts this season. While his 3.0 BB/9 is a bit of a concern, Leahy is doing a good job of limiting damage, especially over the last month-plus. His next start is projected to be at Toronto.

Delivers quality start Monday Leahy allowed one run on three hits and struck out four without walking a batter over six innings in a no-decision versus the Angels on Monday.
Impact Leahy limited the damage to a Jo Adell solo home run in the third inning, but the Cardinals' bullpen let him down. Leahy has allowed just two runs with a 20:7 K:BB across 25.1 innings over his last five starts. For the season, he has produced a 3.59 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 79:33 K:BB across 95.1 innings through 19 starts, which already puts him above the 88 innings he threw as a full-time reliever in 2025. That could put him at risk of some workload management as the campaign continues, but he's showing little reason for concern at this time. Leahy's next start is projected to be at home versus the Reds.

Rain leads to early exit Leahy didn't factor into the decision Friday against Atlanta after allowing one hit over three scoreless innings. He struck out two and did not issue a walk.
Impact Leahy was hardly dominant as he tallied just one swinging strike on 44 pitches, but he kept Atlanta off the board by inducing five groundouts before a long rain delay ended his evening. The 30-year-old saw his two-start win streak come to an end Friday thanks to the rain, but he continued his strong run of form with just one run allowed in his past four starts. Leahy will head into the All-Star break with a 3.73 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 75:33 K:BB through 89.1 innings, which is now the largest workload of his big-league career after operating as a reliever the past few years.

Dazzles in seventh win Leahy (7-4) notched the win Saturday against the Cubs, allowing no runs on three hits and two walks in five innings. He struck out six.
Impact Leahy was magnificent Saturday, scattering three singles across five shutout frames. It was somewhat surprising to the 29-year-old right-hander get pulled so soon, given how well he was performing, but it's worth noting he's crossed the 90-pitch marker just four times in 117 stars for the year. Leahy will aim to further improve on a 3.86 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 73:33 K:BB over 86.1 innings against the division-rival Brewers in his next scheduled outing.

Flexible innings cap this season The Cardinals have a flexible cap on Leahy's innings this season as he transitions from reliever to starter, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Impact The team will alter their rotation coming out of the All-Star break in order to bake in extra rest for Leahy. Additional measures will be taken during the second half to manage the righty's workload, though what exactly that will look like hasn't been decided upon. Leahy has logged 81.1 innings this season, which is just 6.2 frames shy of last year's total. The 29-year-old accumulated 144.2 innings in 2022, which was the last year he was used as a full-time starting pitcher, so the impending curtailing of Leahy's workload shouldn't be too dramatic.
JULY 3 • ROTOWIRE
Credited with sixth win Leahy (6-4) earned the win Sunday, allowing one run on two hits and three walks over five innings against the Marlins. He struck out five.
Impact After lasting at least six innings in each of his previous two starts, Leahy was lifted after five innings and 87 pitches (57 strikes), though he was effective enough and received enough support from the bullpen to earn his first win since May 16. The 29-year-old will finish June with a 3.76 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 21:9 K:BB across 26.1 innings (five starts) during the month. Leahy will take a 4.09 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and 67:31 K:BB across 81.1 innings (16 starts) into his next outing, tentatively scheduled for Saturday against the Cubs.

Goes 6.1 scoreless frames Tuesday Leahy allowed three hits and issued two walks while striking out three batters over 6.1 scoreless innings in a no-decision against Arizona on Tuesday.
Impact Leahy and Eduardo Rodriguez locked into a pitchers' duel for most of the contest, as each hurler pitched into the seventh frame without giving up any runs. It wasn't an overpowering performance by Leahy -- he collected just seven whiffs and three punchouts -- but it was by most measures his best outing of the campaign. The right-hander completed six innings just once across his first 13 appearances of the season, but he's now done so in each of his past two starts, so he may be rounding into his best form. Leahy will look to keep up the positive momentum his next time out, which is lined up to be a clash at home against Miami.

Posts quality start in loss Leahy (5-4) took the loss against the Padres on Wednesday, allowing three runs on seven hits and one walk with seven strikeouts over six innings.
Impact Leahy allowed a run in three separate innings but pitched well overall, throwing 57 of 81 pitches for strikes while generating an impressive 11 whiffs. It also matched a season-high workload for the 29-year-old, who tossed six frames in his only other quality start May 16. He owns a 4.63 ERA, 1.57 WHIP and 59:26 K:BB across 70 innings this season and lines up for a home matchup against the Diamondbacks next week.
