Loses spot on 40-man roster The Cardinals outrighted Robertson to Triple-A Memphis on Tuesday, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.
Impact The 28-year-old was sent to Memphis after he was claimed off waivers by St. Louis in early August, but he won't retain his spot on the 40-man roster through the offseason. Robertson played in only two big-league games during 2022 and had a .239/.393/.363 slash line with 11 home runs, 47 RBI and 30 stolen bases in 116 contests at Triple-A.
NOVEMBER 1, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Claimed by St. Louis Robertson was claimed off waivers by the Cardinals and optioned to Triple-A Memphis on Friday.
Impact Robertson was recently designated for assignment by the Mets and will now return to the Cardinals, with whom he began the season before also being designated for assignment in May. The 27-year-old has a .241/.400/.362 slash line with seven home runs, 30 RBI and 20 stolen bases across 73 Triple-A games this year, and he'll provide organizational infield depth for St. Louis after Edmundo Sosa was shipped off at the trade deadline.
AUGUST 5, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Booted from 40-man roster Robertson was designated for assignment by the Mets on Wednesday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
Impact Robertson was called up by the Mets on Tuesday but didn't appear in the loss to Washington. He'll lose his spot on the 40-man roster as part of a move after Darin Ruf was added to the active roster Wednesday.
AUGUST 3, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Called up Tuesday Robertson was recalled from Triple-A Syracuse on Tuesday, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.
Impact The 27-year-old will round out New York's roster after J.D. Davis was shipped to the Giants on Tuesday in exchange for Darin Ruf. Robertson has a .709 OPS in 21 games with Syracuse and could be headed back there once Ruf officially joins the active roster.
AUGUST 2, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Finds work in new organization The Mets claimed Robertson off waivers from Atlanta on Tuesday and optioned him to Triple-A Syracuse, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.
Impact Though Atlanta never officially announced Robertson was designated for assignment, the 27-year-old was apparently exposed to waivers at some point within the past few days and ultimately landed in a new organization. New York marks the third stop in less than a month for Robertson, a 2017 draft pick of the Cardinals who made his MLB debut for St. Louis earlier this season before being dropped from their 40-man roster June 3. The Mets won't provide a clear path for Robertson to see action at the big-league level, but he'll at least add organizational depth in the middle infield for the Triple-A club.
JUNE 27, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Claimed by Atlanta Robertson was claimed by Atlanta and optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett on Sunday.
Impact The Cardinals designated Robertson for assignment Friday but Atlanta thought he was a worthwhile use of a 40-man roster spot. Robertson hit .220/.398/.371 in 38 games with Triple-A Memphis.
JUNE 5, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Designated for assignment Robertson was designated for assignment Friday, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Impact Robertson was DFA'd Friday after appearing in just one game with the Cardinals this season, going 0-for-1 with an RBI. The move was made in order to create a spot for Zack Thompson on the 40-man roster. Robertson will now remain with Triple-A Memphis, get claimed by another team or be released outright.
JUNE 3, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Returns to minors The Cardinals optioned Robertson to Triple-A Memphis on Thursday.
Impact Robertson's first stint in the majors last all of two days, as the Cardinals elected to move him off the 26-man active roster with fellow infielder Edmundo Sosa (illness) returning from the COVID-19 injured list in advance of Thursday's series finale with the Orioles. The 27-year-old was at least able to come away with his first career RBI in Wednesday's 10-1 loss to Baltimore.
