Jansen has been lights out throughout his career in the playoffs with a 1.94 ERA over 51 innings entering Wednesday's game, but his role going forward may not be so clear. According to Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register, manager Dave Roberts didn't commit to anything regarding the closer's role and said he's "going to keep thinking through it."

Impact Jansen hasn't notched a save since Sept. 15, but he has racked up six consecutive scoreless outings. He's allowed just three hits and a walk while striking out eight in that span. The 32-year-old closer ends the regular season with a 3.33 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 11 saves in 13 chances.

Impact Per J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News, manager Dave Roberts was set on using Jansen "no matter what" after the closer imploded in a blown save Saturday. The intent, clearly, was to allow Jansen a chance to get back on the right track quickly, and he did just that with Sunday's easy outing. The veteran has successfully converted 10-of-12 save chances this season while registering a 12.1 K/9, which would be his highest mark since 2017.
