Removed from 40-man The Cardinals sent Querecuto outright to Triple-A Memphis on Thursday.

Impact Querecuto appeared in just nine games for St. Louis during the final stages of the regular season, logging two hits and a walk over 21 plate appearances. The 31-year-old infielder will now return to Memphis without the benefit of a 40-man roster spot.

Selected to MLB roster St. Louis selected Querecuto's contract from Triple-A Memphis on Wednesday.

Impact Querecuto will provide infield depth for the Cardinals while Nolan Gorman spends at least the next 10 days on the injured list with a right hamstring strain. Querecuto, 30, hasn't appeared in a major-league game since 2016.
