Bumped up to Double-A The Tigers promoted Briceno from High-A West Michigan to Double-A Erie on Sunday.
Impact Briceno will move on to Erie after he slashed .296/.422/.602 with 15 home runs and one stolen base over 55 games with West Michigan. The Tigers are continuing to develop the 20-year-old as a catcher, though he also made 22 starts at first base during his time at High-A.

Makes the jump to Double-A Briceno was promoted to Double-A Erie on Sunday.
Impact Briceno has had a rather impressive season with High-A West Michigan so far, compiling a .292 average with 15 home runs, 55 RBI, 40 runs scored and a stolen base over 54 contests. The 20-year-old made 22 starts at first base, 19 at catcher and 14 as a designated hitter, and he will now look to maintain his elite level of play at Double-A.

Career day at High-A Briceno went 4-for-4 with three home runs, a double and he stole home Thursday for High-A West Michigan.
Impact Briceno is hitting .429 with six home runs, seven walks and two strikeouts over his last eight games, so a promotion to Double-A could be coming soon. The lefty-hitting 20-year-old has made more starts at first base (14) than catcher (12) this year and could eventually lose catcher eligibility.

Returns from knee injury Briceno (knee) has gone 2-for-14 with four walks, two RBI and one run over four games for Single-A Lakeland since being activated from the 60-day injured list Friday.
Impact Before returning to action last weekend, Briceno had been on the shelf since May 14 with a PCL sprain in his right knee. Though he's healthy enough to hit, Briceno may not be comfortable catching just yet. He's made three of his starts as a designated hitter and the other as a first baseman.
