Gets minor-league deal with Yankees Peraza signed a minor-league contract with the Yankees on Monday, Eli Fishman of Pinstriped Pros reports.

Impact Primarily a second baseman -- though he can also play around the diamond in a pinch -- Peraza hit .204/.266/.380 with six home runs and one steal in 64 games with the Mets last season. He gives the Yankees some extra infield depth after Tyler Wade moved on from the organization earlier this offseason.

Becomes free agent Peraza declined an outright assignment to the minors Friday and elected free agency.

Impact Peraza filled in for the injury-plagued Mets during the first half but wound up missing most of the second half with a fractured finger. His defensive versatility and speed could help him land somewhere this offseason in a bench role, but his .229/.279/.353 slash line over the last three seasons makes him rather unexciting even in that capacity.

Activated by Mets Peraza (finger) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Wednesday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Impact Peraza spent just over two weeks at Triple-A Syracuse on a rehab assignment, and he hit .250 with two doubles, four runs, four RBI and a stolen base. The 27-year-old had been on the injured list since July 20 due to a fractured right middle finger, and he'll serve as utility depth for the major-league club after Albert Almora was sent down Wednesday.

Rehabbing at Triple-A Peraza (finger) began a rehab assignment at Triple-A Syracuse on Aug. 31 and has gone 9-for-36 (.250 average) with four runs, four RBI, a stolen base and a 2:2 BB:K in 10 games.

Impact The veteran infielder has been on the 10-day injured list since July 20 after fracturing a finger on his right hand while turning a double play in a game against the Reds. Since Peraza has been on the shelf, the Mets acquired Javier Baez and got Francisco Lindor back from the IL, so the team doesn't have much of a need for Peraza to provide depth in the middle infield. He'll likely be activated from the IL and optioned to Syracuse once his rehab window comes to a close.
