Impact After making a surprise return from the injured list Monday, Soler served as the Angels' designated hitter for each of the team's ensuing five games and went 4-for-16 with a pair of home runs, four walks, four RBI and three runs. He doesn't appear to have experienced any setbacks with his oblique injury since returning to action, so Soler's absence from the lineup Sunday is likely just a planned rest day.

Impact Soler missed just over two weeks due to a left oblique strain. The veteran kept the Angels from getting shut out Monday, lifting a ninth-inning homer. He went 13-for-55 (.236) in the 14 games prior to his absence, a slight improvement compared to his overall numbers. He's batting .220 with a .713 OPS, 10 homers, 34 RBI, 29 runs scored, 10 doubles and a triple over 59 contests this season.

Impact Soler has been on the injured list since June 6 with a left oblique strain, but he has been able to ramp up his activity over the past week-plus. Prior to landing on the IL, Soler was said to be playing through a groin issue, which helps explain his struggles throughout the month of May (.571 OPS). Overall, Soler is slashing .220/.300/.402 with nine homers, 33 RBI and 28 runs scored across 243 plate appearances this season.

Impact Soler has been sidelined since early June, as he was placed on the 10-day IL due to a left oblique strain June 6 (retroactive to June 4). He's just about eligible to return, but given where he's at in his recovery, it's almost certain the veteran outfielder will need more than a minimum-length IL stay. The Angels have been switching off DH duties among several players, including Mike Trout, during Soler's absence.
