On bench Saturday
Vivas isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Marlins.
Impact
Vivas will take a day off to regroup Saturday after going 0-for-12 at the plate across his last four games. Jose Tena will start at the keystone while Vivas sits, and Brady House will get the nod at third base.

ROTOWIRE
Idle against southpaw
Vivas is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cubs.
Impact
The Nationals will keep the left-handed-hitting Vivas on the bench for the second day in a row while the Cubs send another lefty (David Peterson) to the hill. Brady House will spell Vivas at third base and will bat third.

ROTOWIRE
Absent from lineup
Vivas is not in the lineup for Friday's contest versus the Reds.
Impact
The lefty-swinging Vivas started at third base each of the last three times the Nationals faced a right-hander, but he'll begin this one on the bench as righty Chase Petty starts a bullpen game for Cincinnati. Brady House will be at the hot corner and bat third.

•
ROTOWIRE
Removed from lineup
Vivas was scratched from the lineup for Saturday's game against Atlanta.
Impact
With left-hander Martin Perez now set to toe the slab for Atlanta instead of Reynaldo Lopez (knee), the Nationals will exchange the lefty-hitting Vivas for the right-handed bat of Brady House.

Another start at third base
Vivas will start at third base and bat eighth in Tuesday's game versus the Blue Jays.
Impact
Following the trade of Curtis Mead, the left-handed-hitting Vivas has started at third base both times the Nationals have faced a right-hander. Brady House drew a start against a lefty, but it seems Vivas is currently manager Blake Butera's preferred option at the hot corner versus righty hurlers. The 25-year-old Vivas is slashing .240/.321/.339 with three homers and a 21:32 BB:K across 76 contests for the Nats this season.

Goes yard in Tuesday's start
Vivas went 2-for-3 with a walk, a three-run home run and a second run scored in Tuesday's loss to the Phillies.
Impact
Getting the start at second base and batting fifth while Nasim Nunez shifted to shortstop to cover for CJ Abrams (side), Vivas appeared to have the game won when he took Orion Kerkering deep in the bottom of the eight inning to give the Nationals an 8-6 lead, only for the visitors to stage an improbable eight-run rally with two outs in the top of the ninth. The homer was only Vivas' second of the season in 161 plate appearances, but that still establishes a new career high for the light-hitting infielder, who sports a .259/.340/.353 slash line on the year.

Back in bench role
Vivas is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Royals.
Impact
Vivas will retreat to the bench after he had started at second base or third base in five of the previous six games while going 4-for-15 with one walk, two RBI and one run during that span. The Nationals still appear to view Nasim Nunez and Curtis Mead as the preferred options at the keystone and hot corner, respectively, so Vivas will likely be in line for just a part-time role when Washington is at full strength.

Drives in three in rout
Vivas went 2-for-5 with a walk, a double and three RBI in Friday's rout of the Diamondbacks.
Impact
Getting the start at third base and batting sixth, Vivas smacked a two-run double down the right-field line in the third inning before adding an RBI single in the ninth. The 25-year-old infielder has also seen time at second base this season, and over 137 plate appearances in 2026 he's slashing .239/.326/.325 with one homer, zero steals, eight RBI and 16 runs.

Back on bench Wednesday
Vivas is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Marlins.
Impact
Vivas had started at second base twice and third base once over the Nationals' previous four games, going 2-for-11 with a walk and a run scored during that stretch. Washington has seemingly moved Curtis Mead into a full-time role at third base, but Vivas could end up getting more opportunities at the keystone if Nasim Nunez continues to languish at the plate. Though he leads the majors with 22 stolen bases, Nunez is slashing just .182/.256/.221 since the start of May.
