Sent to Toronto
The Blue Jays acquired Klein, along with Dasan Hill and Dameury Pena from Minnesota in exchange for Jeff Hoffman on Monday, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports.
Impact
Klein appeared in three games for Minnesota this season, but spent most of his time with Triple-A St. Paul. In Triple-A, the 24-year-old has recorded a 5.91 ERA, 1.52 WHIP and 74:34 K:BB in 64 innings this season. The right-hander will most likely report to Triple-A Buffalo as he moves over to his new organization.

Back in majors
The Twins recalled Klein from Triple-A St. Paul on Saturday.
Impact
Klein has conceded two earned runs in just 2.1 innings with the Twins this season, but since being optioned to Triple-A on May 7, he's posted a 3.65 ERA and 0.89 WHIP with a 16:5 K:BB across 12.1 innings. Now back with the big club, he'll presumably work in a multi-inning role out of the bullpen, replacing Simeon Woods Richardson, who was DFA'd in a corresponding move.

Returning to Triple-A
The Twins optioned Klein to Triple-A St. Paul on Thursday, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Impact
The move comes in order to make room for Yoendrys Gomez, who was acquired by the Twins from the Rays on Wednesday. Klein made one appearance up with the big club on Saturday, in which he tossed a perfect inning against the Blue Jays.

Recalled from Triple-A
The Twins recalled Klein from Triple-A St. Paul on Saturday, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.
Impact
Klein has made seven appearances (six starts) at St. Paul this season, posting a 7.48 ERA and 1.32 WHIP alongside a 24:6 K:BB through 21.2 innings. Although his numbers aren't exactly impressive, the Twins will call upon him to fill the open spot in their bullpen left by Cole Sands' (forearm) move to the injured list Saturday.

Moves to Triple-A
The Twins optioned Klein to Triple-A St. Paul on Monday.
Impact
Klein was one of nine players sent out of big-league camp in the Twins' latest round of roster cuts. Minnesota added the 23-year-old righty to the 40-man roster this offseason after he accrued a 3.98 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 128:37 K:BB across 106.1 innings between St. Paul and Double-A Wichita in 2025. Klein made 15 of his 31 appearances out of the bullpen last season, but he's been building up as a starter during spring training and is expected to handle a full-time role in the St. Paul rotation in 2026.

Working as starter
Klein will be built up as a starter this spring, Matthew Leach of MLB.com reports.
Impact
Klein was used as a starter and reliever in the minors last season. He had a strong 10.8 K/9 which could make him a candidate for the bullpen at some point. He had a good season at Double-A Wichita with a 3.12 ERA and 95:24 K:BB ratio in 80.2 innings, but struggled when called up to Triple-A with a 6.66 ERA and 33:13 K:BB in 25.2 innings.
