Impact Smith began warming up in preparation for the eighth inning when Houston was still clinging to a 3-1 lead. That's an indication that he will be the primary setup option for closer Ryan Pressly. The Astros never needed Pressly, because they plated two runs in the top of the eighth and another three in the ninth to win going away.

Impact Baker didn't put a timeline for when Smith is expected to arrive at summer camp, so for now, the reliever can be viewed as day-to-day. The right-hander made 28 appearances out of the Houston bullpen in 2019, logging a 1.80 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 22:5 K:BB in 25 innings.
