Goes deep in California League finals game Chisholm went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Wednesday for High-A Visalia in its 9-1 loss to Rancho Cucamonga in Game 2 of the California League finals.

Impact The 20-year-old's home run was his 25th of the season and was just one of two hits on the night for Visalia. While 15 of those long balls came at Low-A Kane County earlier in the campaign, Chisholm has actually raised his slugging percentage from .472 to .597 since moving up to Visalia in late July. He'll likely move up to the high minors at some point in 2019 and should enter next spring as the Diamondbacks' top middle-infield prospect.

Powering up at High-A Chisholm has hit .333/.397/.632 with four home runs and three stolen bases over his first 14 games with High-A Visalia.

Impact The hitter-friendly environments of the California League have surely inflated Chisholm's production, but his 1.028 OPS shouldn't be written off as a complete fluke. Prior to earning the promotion to Visalia, the 20-year-old displayed uncommon power for a middle-infield prospect at Low-A Kane County, amassing 15 home runs, 17 doubles and four triples. Chisholm's solid 8.6 percent walk rate between the two stops will likely help him offset a major downturn in his on-base percentage as his BABIP normalizes.

Elevated to High-A Chisholm was promoted to High-A Visalia, Zach Buchanan of The Athletic Arizona reports.

Impact The Bahamian was promoted Thursday, according to Renaldo Dorsett of Tribune 242, the newspaper from Chisholm's home country. The 20-year-old hit .244/.311/.472 line for Low-A Kane County with 15 homers, 43 RBI, 52 runs and eight stolen bases. Playing as one of the younger athletes in the Midwest League, this promotion will provide a stouter test in his progress, but he's quickly gaining more attention.

Homers twice in five-hit performance Chisholm went 5-for-6 with two home runs, a triple, five RBI and four runs for Low-A Kane County in its 13-4 win over Dayton on Monday.

Impact It's the second multi-homer game of the season for Chisholm, who is now up to 15 long balls in his second tour of the Midwest League. The monster performance ended Chisholm's 2-for-25 skid at the dish over the past six games. The 20-year-old shortstop is slashing .244/.311/.472 across 341 plate appearances on the campaign, good for a 116 wRC+.

Chisholm's .250/.319/.482 batting line translates to a 120 wRC+, a solid mark for a player who's younger than most of his Midwest League peers and one who missed much of last season due to injury.

Chisholm is repeating Low-A ball after his 2017 campaign was cut short due to the torn meniscus he suffered in a batting practice last May, but fortunately, this latest setback doesn't seem to be nearly as severe.
