Sent to IL
Toronto placed Taillon on the 15-day injured list with right forearm tendinitis on Tuesday, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.
Impact
Taillon completed just four innings of work Monday against Boston before being removed with discomfort in his right forearm. The 34-year-old will head to the for the second time this year, and his first as a Blue Jay. The right-hander made just two starts for Toronto since being dealt to the club on August 2 from the Cubs. Toronto recalled Chase Lee from Triple-A Buffalo to take his spot on the active roster.

Diagnosed with forearm discomfort
Taillon left Monday's start against Boston with right forearm discomfort, Hazel Mae of Sportsnet reports.
Impact
Taillon appeared to be in some sort of discomfort after completing his fourth inning of work, and the club revealed shortly after that his departure was related to a forearm issue. He'll presumably be sent for further testing over the next few days to determine next steps.

Exits with apparent injury
Taillon exited Monday's start against the Red Sox with an apparent injury, Thomas Hall of MLB.com reports. He allowed one hit and three walks while striking out three over four sco...
Impact
Taillon made it through four innings unscathed, but as Hall notes, he made a motion to the Toronto training staff after wrapping up his fourth inning of work and was promptly removed. It's also worth noting that the right-hander's velocity noticeably dipped in the top of the fourth inning prior to his exit. Taillon can be considered day-to-day until the team has more information to share.

Remaining in rotation
Taillon is listed as the Blue Jays' probable starting pitcher for Monday's game against the Red Sox at Rogers Centre.
Impact
After being acquired from the Cubs on Aug. 2, Taillon was cleared to make his Blue Jays debut three days later. While stepping in as the Blue Jays' new fifth starter, Taillon took a no-decision against the Astros after allowing three earned runs on six hits and two walks over four innings. The 34-year-old should be able to stick around in the Toronto rotation until the team gets one of Trey Yesavage (knee) or Spencer Arrighetti (foot) back from the injured list, but Taillon has offered little reason to get inspired about his fantasy prospects moving forward. Over 16 starts between the Cubs and Blue Jays, Taillon has surrendered a whopping 26 home runs in 80 innings and has supplied a 5.96 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 72:29 K:BB.

Shaky in Jays debut
Taillon didn't factor into the decision in Wednesday's 5-4 extra-inning win over the Astros, giving up three runs on six hits and two walks over four innings. He struck out four.
Impact
All the damage off Taillon came in the third inning, highlighted by a Jose Altuve solo shot. It wasn't an impressive Toronto debut for the veteran righty, who got lifted after 80 pitches (49 strikes), but he was taken off the hook for the loss when his new teammates got to Hunter Brown for three runs of their own in the sixth. Taillon will continue to round out the rotation until Trey Yesavage (knee) or Spencer Arrighetti (foot) are cleared to return, and he'll take a 5.96 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 72:29 K:BB through 80 innings on the season into his next start, which lines up to come at home early next week against the Red Sox.

Will start Wednesday
Taillon will start Wednesday's game against the Astros, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Impact
The Blue Jays are moving to a six-man rotation for the time being, and Taillon will figure into those plans until Spencer Arrighetti (foot) is ready to debut for the Blue Jays. In 15 starts with the Cubs this season, Taillon pitched to an ugly 5.92 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 68:27 K:BB across 76 innings. He also surrendered 25 home runs during that span.

Shipped to Toronto
The Blue Jays acquired Taillon from the Cubs on Sunday in exchange for cash or a player to be named later, Mitch Bannon of The Athletic reports.
Impact
The veteran right-hander was designated for assignment by the Cubs on Monday, and the Blue Jays elected to secure his services via trade rather than risk another team claiming him on waivers. Unless Toronto shifts to a six-man rotation, Taillon doesn't cleanly fit into the club's starting plans, but that could change soon with Kevin Gausman and Shane Bieber being candidates to be moved ahead of Monday's trade deadline.
