Elevated to Double-A The Guardians promoted Chourio from High-A Lake County to Double-A Akron on Sunday.

Impact The younger brother of Brewers outfielder Jackson Chourio (hand), Jaison has emerged as an interesting prospect in his own right since signing with the Guardians in January 2022. The 20-year-old switch-hitting outfielder will move on to Akron after slashing .317/.431/.476 with two home runs and 10 stolen bases over 22 games at High-A to begin the season.

Back from shoulder injury Chourio (shoulder) was activated from the 7-day inured list at High-A Lake County on Friday.

Impact Chourio missed three weeks with a shoulder strain before beginning a rehab assignment in late May. He is hitting .226 with a .390 OBP, one home run and five steals in 29 games in the minors this year.

Set to play in Spring Breakout game Chourio (wrist) is listed on the Cleveland roster for its March 14 Spring Breakout game versus Seattle prospects, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.

Impact Chourio turned in an impressive 2024 campaign at Single-A Lynchburg, slashing .273/.416/.401 with five home runs and 43 stolen bases over 435 plate appearances before fracturing his left wrist in late August. He appears to be facing no restrictions with his wrist during spring training, as Stebbins notes that the 19-year-old outfield prospect has been part of the big club's depth roster during camp.
