Signs with Royals Castillo signed a minor-league contract with the Royals on Thursday.

Impact Castillo made his major-league debut during the 2021 campaign but spent most of the season at Triple-A El Paso. Across 113 appearances in the minors, the 26-year-old hit .287 with three homers, 47 runs, 45 RBI and 12 stolen bases.

Outrighted to Triple-A Castillo cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A El Paso on Friday.

Impact Castillo made his big-league debut in May but was sent down after appearing in just three games. He spent the bulk of the year with El Paso, where his .287/.326/.366 slash line was merely good for a 73 wRC+.
