Inks minor-league deal Fenter signed a minor-league contract with the Giants on Friday.

Impact Fenter spent the entire 2021 campaign at Double-A Bowie and recorded a 5.35 ERA and 1.54 WHIP in 77.1 innings across 21 appearances (13 starts). The 25-year-old could be in the mix to make his major-league debut at some point in 2022.

Returns to Baltimore Fenter was returned by the Cubs to the Orioles on Friday, Jon Meoli of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Impact Fenter was selected by the Cubs with the 14th pick of the Rule 5 draft but evidently wasn't in the team's plans. He'll return to the Orioles' organization and will continue his climb up the minor-league ladder, where he's yet to pitch above Low-A.

Impact The 24-year-old righty worked primarily as a starter in the Orioles' organization in 2019, logging a 1.81 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 123 strikeouts in 94.1 innings at Low-A. Despite those gaudy numbers, Fenter turns 25 in January and has never pitched above Low-A, so he will likely work in a low-leverage relief role in 2021.
