Impact Gonzalez was with the big club for its weekend series in Boston while Tristan Gray was on paternity leave. The rookie made one start and picked up his first major-league hit during his brief time in the majors, but with Gray back in the fold, Gonzalez will return to St. Paul.

Impact Gonzalez was added to the 40-man roster over the offseason and is receiving his first big-league promotion. His stint in the majors could be brief, however, as there's a good chance he'll be sent back down in a few days when Tristan Gray returns from paternity leave. Gonzalez has slashed only .216/.294/.392 with eight home runs in 44 games this season with St. Paul.

Impact Gonzalez was one of nine players sent out of big-league camp in the Twins' latest round of roster cuts. Minnesota added the 22-year-old outfielder to the 40-man roster this offseason after he slashed .329/.395/.513 with 15 home runs and eight steals across stops with High-A Cedar Rapids, Double-A Wichita and St. Paul. Gonzalez is likely on track to make his MLB debut at some point in 2026, and his bat will be the key to him gaining a long-term foothold in the Minnesota lineup. He's a below-average defender who was moved off center field early in his minor-league career and is limited to a corner spot or designated hitter.

The 21-year-old outfielder's breakout campaign will grant him protection from the Rule 5 Draft in the form of a 40-man roster spot, and he may be able to win a place on the Twins' Opening Day roster if he continues to hit well in spring training.

Promoted to Triple-A Gonzalez was promoted to Triple-A St. Paul, Bobby Nightengale of The Minnesota Star Tribune reports.

Impact Gonzalez began the season at High-A and was promoted after hitting .319 with five home runs and a .907 OPS in 34 games for Cedar Rapids. He then hit .344/./429/.509 with four home runs in 55 games for Double-A Wichita. After missing extended time with a back injury last season, he's re-established himself as one of the better hitting prospects in the Twins organization.

Promoted to Double-A Gonzalez is hitting .333 (6-for-18) with a .762 OPS in five games for Double-A Wichita since his promotion from High-A Cedar Rapids.

Impact Gonzalez was promoted after hitting .319 with five home runs and a .907 OPS in 34 games. He took a step backward last season by hitting just .255 with a .706 OPS at High-A Cedar Rapids. However, he played just 76 games as he missed about two months with a back injury. It looks like a return to full health has him back on track as one of the better hitting prospects in the Twins organization.

Impact Gonzalez made starts in each of Cedar Rapids' first three games following his return from the IL, going 3-for-12 with a triple and two RBI. The 20-year-old outfielder -- who missed about two months with the back injury -- is slashing .263/.302/.450 over 86 plate appearances on the season for Cedar Rapids.

Even with all that experience in full-season ball, Gonzalez doesn't turn 20 until January and is looking like one of the best pure hitters in the minors.

The precocious 19-year-old is also carrying an impressively modest 15.9 percent strikeout rate, and he figures to ascend to High-A Everett before too much longer.
