Expected to return Saturday
Miller (back) is expected to be activated from the 15-day injured list Saturday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Impact
Miller has made two appearances with Triple-A Sacramento during his minor-league rehab assignment, combining to pitch two scoreless innings while striking out three batters. The southpaw will make his return to the major-league roster after the minimum 15 days on the injured list, and he'll immediately be back in the mix for save chances with San Francisco.

Begins rehab assignment
Miller (back) yielded one hit and struck out one over a scoreless frame in his first rehab appearance with Triple-A Sacramento on Sunday.
Impact
MIller was cleared to pitch in a rehab game less than a week after landing on the 15-day injured list with a lower-back strain, putting him on pace to return Saturday when first eligible. Before getting injured, Miller was receiving some save chances as part of an unsettled Giants bullpen.

Expected back when first eligible
Miller (back) will throw a bullpen session Thursday before beginning a rehab assignment with Triple-A Sacramento on Sunday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Impact
Miller was just placed on the 15-day injured list Monday with a lower-back strain, but the Giants expect him to be ready for activation when first eligible. The left-hander is one of four pitcher to record a save for the Giants this season and is poised to return to the late-inning mix before the end of next week if all goes well.

Placed on IL with back strain
The Giants placed Miller on the 15-day injured list Monday, retroactive to Friday, due to a lower-back strain.
Impact
Miller may have tweaked his back during his last outing against the Phillies on Thursday, when he tossed one scoreless inning and logged one strikeout and a hold. The 28-year-old southpaw dealt with a back issue in spring training, so he may need a longer stint on the IL than the 15-day minimum. Right-hander Trevor McDonald was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento in a corresponding move.

Earns second save Sunday
Miller picked up the save Sunday against the Marlins. He allowed no hits or walks while striking out one over 1.1 perfect innings.
Impact
Miller was called upon with two outs in the eighth inning and delivered a clean outing, retiring all four batters he faced to secure the victory for the Giants. It marked the southpaw's second save of the season, trailing only Ryan Walker, who leads the team with three saves, as manager Tony Vitello has deployed a closer-by-committee approach. Miller has now strung together seven consecutive scoreless outings and owns a 3.48 ERA and 1.35 WHIP with a 16:6 K:BB across 10.1 innings in 2026.

Earns first save
Miller picked up the save Thursday against the Reds, tossing a shutout ninth inning with a walk and three strikeouts.
Impact
Miller has a blown save on his ledger already this season but he took much better advantage of his second chance to lock down a game. The 28-year-old issued a one-out walk to Matt McLain, but he struck out the other three batters he faced to earn the save. With 10 strikeouts in six innings, the 28-year-old has the stuff to be an effective late-inning option but needs to find the consistency as even after Thursday's outing, he holds a 6.00 ERA and 1.83 WHIP on the season.

Struggles Sunday
Miller picked up a blown save in Sunday's 5-2 loss to the Mets, allowing two earned runs on three hits while striking out two over two-thirds of an inning.
Impact
After Keaton Winn gave up two hits and recorded one out in the eighth inning, Miller entered the game and allowed a go-ahead two-run double to give the Mets a 3-2 lead. He then surrendered an RBI single and another RBI double before striking out the final two batters of the inning. The left-hander has allowed two runs in back-to-back outings and now owns a 12.00 ERA, 2.67 WHIP and 4:2 K:BB across three innings in four outings this season.

Allows two runs Friday
Miller allowed two earned runs on two hits and a walk while striking out one across two-thirds of an inning in Friday's 10-3 loss to the Mets.
Impact
Miller had allowed just one hit and one walk in his first 1.2 innings of the season, but he struggled Friday. The left-hander entered in the ninth inning and issued a walk to the first batter he faced before surrendering an RBI double. He then gave up a single and another run before exiting. Over three outings, Miller has recorded a 7.71 ERA, 2.14 WHIP and 2:2 K:BB across 2.1 innings.
