Recalled to Kansas City The Royals recalled Cerantola from Triple-A Omaha on Friday.

Impact Cerantola will rejoin the Royals in Texas after recording two appearances with Kansas City on May 6 and 7. With Triple-A Omaha, the 26-year-old posted a 1.37 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 30:10 K:BB. Nick Mears will be placed on the 15-day IL to make room for Cerantola on the active roster.

Returning to Triple-A The Royals optioned Cerantola to Triple-A Omaha on Friday.

Impact The right-hander was called up from Omaha on Wednesday and pitched on both days he spent in the big leagues, giving up three runs on two hits with four walks and five strikeouts over three innings. Stephen Cruz will fill Cerantola's spot in Kansas City's bullpen.

Logs first major-league strikeouts Cerantola allowed one hit and one walk while striking out two batters in a scoreless ninth inning during the Royals' 3-1 loss to the Guardians on Wednesday.

Impact Cerantola was recalled by the Royals from Triple-A Omaha before Wednesday's game, and the 26-year-old right-hander from Montreal, Canada made his major-league debut on the same day. He allowed the first two batters he faced on base, but after Austin Hedges was caught stealing, Cerantola settled in to strike out the last two batters of ninth. Cerantola has a 1.42 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 18:6 K:BB across 12.2 innings in Triple-A this season, and his promotion to the big leagues should give the Royals a nice boost in the bullpen.

Impact Cerantola earned the promotion after turning in a 1.42 ERA and 18:6 K:BB over his first 12.2 innings with Omaha. The 26-year-old reliever will be making his major-league debut when/if he gets into a game.

Impact Cerantola was roughed up for four runs with a 0:3 K:BB over 2.1 innings in his three Cactus League outings. The 25-year-old was added to the Royals' 40-man roster last offseason but has yet to make his major-league debut. Cerantola spent all of the 2025 campaign at Omaha, holding a 4.04 ERA and 63:24 K:BB across 49 frames.

Cut from big-league camp The Royals optioned Cerantola to Triple-A Omaha on Monday.

Impact Cerantola joined the Royals' 40-man roster over the winter and has tossed two scoreless frames during Cactus League play, but he never really had a shot to break camp with the big club. The righty reliever does figure to debut at some point in 2025 and could eventually be a late-inning option for Kansas City if he can throw enough strikes.

Added to 40-man roster The Royals selected Cerantola from Triple-A Omaha on Tuesday.

Impact Cerantola started 2024 in Double-A Northwest Arkansas where he held a 2.93 ERA across 24 games, seven of which he started in. In Omaha, he made no starts in the 13 games he appeared in, while posting a 3.77 ERA and 1.49 WHIP across 14.1 innings. The 24-year old is now protected from the Rule 5 Draft in December.
