Optioned to El Paso The Padres optioned Nunez to Triple-A El Paso on Friday.
Impact After giving up two earned runs over 4.2 innings during his first nine days as a major-leaguer, Nunez will head back to Triple-A to clear room for Ryan Bergert's (forearm) return from the IL. The 26-year-old Nunez also owns a 2.40 ERA and 1.07 WHIP over 30 innings between Double-A and Triple-A this season, and if he continues at that rate, he should be able to make another appearance for the Padres at some point down the line.

Added to MLB roster The Padres selected Nunez's contract from Triple-A El Paso on Wednesday.
Impact Nunez earned the call-up after posting a 2.70 ERA and 49:14 K:BB over 30 innings between Double-A San Antonio and El Paso. The 26-year-old will be making his major-league debut when/if he gets into a game.

Expected to be called up Wednesday Nunez is set to be called up from Triple-A El Paso on Wednesday, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Impact Nunez will join the Padres ahead of the team's doubleheader with the Phillies on Wednesday. The right-hander has pitched 7.1 scoreless innings, allowing one hit and three walks while striking out 11 batters in seven appearances with El Paso since being promoted from Double-A San Antonio on June 10. Matt Waldron is expected to be sent down to Triple-A El Paso in order to make room for Nunez with the big-league club.
