Lee remains third in the pecking order among southpaws in the Atlanta bullpen behind Will Smith and A.J. Minter, but that hasn't stopped him from posting a 0.59 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and 13:2 K:BB through 15.1 innings over 11 appearances since rejoining the big-league roster in late May.

Impact In order to open up a spot for the left-handed Lee, Atlanta designated southpaw Sean Newcomb for assignment. Lee appeared in just two regular-season games for Atlanta in 2021, but he made three appearances in the playoffs during the club's run to the World Series crown last fall. He'll likely see most of his usage out of the bullpen in lower-leverage spots as he makes his return to the 28-man active roster.

Impact Lee made his big-league debut last season but threw just two innings, so he was likely always a long shot to break camp with the team. Impact Manager Brian Snitker had previously indicated the team would go with an opener in Game 4 with a 2-1 series lead, but that opener was a mystery until Saturday afternoon.
